WordPress Website Developer

Job Description

We are looking for an in-house WordPress Website Developer to join our world leading genetic testing organisation. The role is office based with occasional home working at our facilities on Chesterford Research Park CB10 1XL. Hours of work are 37.5.

WordPress Developer’s Core Duties

You would be responsible for providing back and front-end website technical support for the ongoing maintenance of current websites, and building, designing and maintaining a new website. You will integrate WordPress themes, site plug ins, security, data interchange, and translate wireframes into code/templates for visual elements.

You will design a template-based website and build reusable code libraries, optimise speed, scalability, security and data protection to ensure the overall technical architecture provides maximum performance

You will undertake website audits of site errors, broken links, bug fixes, site speed, mobile accessibility and makes the necessary repairs, develop API integration between third party websites and a future Salesforce CRM, expedite effective content/data migration from legacy sites, automate and improve development release processes.

What You Do

WordPress Developer’s Key Skills

  • Good front-end HTML, CSS3, jQuery, Javascript, JQuery, Cloudflare
  • Strong back-end PHP, Javascript
  • WordPress
  • 3+ years building websites, web applications, testing website interfaces and automation
  • Convert layout concepts into wireframes, templates and reusable coding libraries
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, CMS and Google analytics integration
  • Data migration, transformation, and scripting
  • Managed hosting, database admin, scaling to support load changes
  • Configured E-commerce platform trading, payment, and fulfilment experience
  • Basic understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  • Understands GDPR compliant data workflow
  • Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator experience

WordPress Developer’s Desirable skills

  • Familiarity with Gimp, Elementor tools, devOps and Agile principles
  • Official Google partner/Google-trained
  • Salesforce, Stripe, Mailchimp, Adobe Campaign integration experience
